| Why vitamin C is so important |

Vitamin C we need to protect our cells from damage, to heal wounds and to keep our immune system active .
There are suspicions that vitamin C also in prevention of cancer and heart disease, but there is still need more research to prove it scientifically. On curing colds, vitamin C has no effect. Sorry ... But it can shorten them or mitigate and duration.
The recommended daily allowance is 90 mg for men and 75 mg for women . Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and smokers need more. FYI: one orange contains 70 mg.
Most people take (more than) enough vitamin C in the diet. It is rare that someone has an extremely low vitamin C content. And if it is still the case, causing scurvy fatigue, aching joints, gum problems, blotchy skin.
